No tengo mucho tiempo como para sentarme y escribir un buen párrafo analizando cada una de estas colecciones, me siento un fracaso de periodista, me encantaría que el blog fuera mi trabajo a tiempo completo, pero no lo es y en cambio, tengo un trabajo a medio tiempo que entre él y mis estudios consumen mi vida, por ello he decidido hacer el mega post del NY Fashion week mostrando las pasarelas que más llamaron mi atención. ¿Cuál es tu favorita?
I don’t have much time to sit down and write a good paragraph analyzing each of these collections; I feel a failure as a journalist. I wish the blog was my full time job but it’s not and instead I have a half-time job and between that and my studies they consume my life. So I decided to make the mega post of NY Fashion Week, showing the runways that caught my attention. Which one is your favorite?

Diane Von Furstenberg caused a sensation with the puzzle pieces patterns. This was a runway defined by bright colors and accentuated the elegance and simplicity that characterizes this fashion house.
Hérve Léger nunca fue de mis favoritos, sus famosos vestidos cortos y apretados que todas las socialités usaban en las red carpets, no me creaban una sensación de credibilidad en el mundo de la moda. Pero en cuanto vi esta pasarela tuve que tragarme mis palabras, los vestidos son fantásticos y elegantes y los arnés de cuero aportan ese elemento fahionista que toda colección digna de una semana de la moda debe tener.
Hérve Léger was never one of my favorites, his famous short and tight dresses were worn by all the socialites in red carpets and it didn’t create a sense of credibility in the fashion world for him. But when I saw this runway I had to swallow my own words. The clothes are fantastic and elegant and those leather harnesses bring that fashion element that every collection worthy of a fashion week should have.
No hay muchas cosas que pueda decir sobre Monique Lhuillier, sólo que si pudiera casarme con esta colección, lo haría sin dudarlo. Impresionante pulcritud en la confección y el diseño es igual a perfección.
There's not much I can say about Monique Lhuillier, only if I could marry this collection, I'd do it. Impressive neatness in confection and the design equals perfection.
Yo sabía un poco de Thakoon desde hace algunos años, pero le vi la cara cuando apareció en el documental sobre Vogue The September Issue, allí Thakoon había ganado la oportunidad de diseñar algunas piezas para la marca de ropa Gap, y ni siquiera era Gap quien revisaba sus diseños, era la misma Wintour la encargada de decidir que estaba mal y que estaba bien, pero eso fue hace mucho tiempo. Hoy en día Vogue se desbocará por poner esta colección en sus páginas.
I knew about Thakoon a couple of years ago. But I really saw his face when he appeared in Vogue documentary The September Issue. There Thakoon won the opportunity to design some pieces for the clothing brand Gap. And it wasn’t even the Gap people the ones revising his designs, was the one and only Anna Wintour in charge of deciding what was wrong and what was fine with it, but that was long ago. Today Vogue magazine will be working their asses of to put this collection on their pages.
Zac Posen es de esos diseñadores que no hacen nada que no quisiera usar, y es una de las pasarelas que espero con ansias todos los fashion weeks, en general quisiera verlo usando siluetas distintas, pero supongo que los cortes sirena son lo suyo, además ese último vestido azul y negro usado por Coco Rocha ha ganado un espacio especial en mi corazón.
Zac Posen is one of those designers who don’t do anything I’ll not like to use, and is one of the runways I really look forward to see in every fashion week. In general I would like to see him using different shapes, but I guess fishtail are really his thing. That blue and black dress worn by Coco Rocha at the end has earned a special place in my heart.
